Automate your escape plan
It seem like it’s the dot com bubble all over again these days- a million little start ups everywhere with a variety of wacky uses. The latest the Degourget team has come across is getmooh.com, a automatic call back service. Now, this has been around since late 2006 apparently, so it’s probably chewed up a helluva lot of cash by now if they’re doing the start up thing properly. I can only but imagine the arduous 20 hour coke fueled foosball marathons they’ve all partaken in by now. hmmmmm. But, as always, I digress. What exactly is an automated call back service and what will it do for you? Well, the website describe its utility thus:
“It is designed to help you escape a variety of situations by calling you automatically on your phone at a pre-specified time and playing you a recording which will either instruct you on what to say to elude your tormentor(s), or which will simply give a convincing sense of you being on an important call.”
I can’t see myself using this service, but I’ll admit it’s a cute idea at heart. For a tard. If you are so sure your date is going to be that bad you need an escape and you don’t have any friends to make the call for you, then you really should be reevaluating:
a) why you are going on the date in the first place, and more importantly,
b) whether or not you should be taking valuable oxygen from the rest of us.
If you’re intrigued by the concept, visit the site and have a listen to the various recordings currently available, they even encourage you to submit suggestions for further recordings.
In hilarious web2.0, I’m a Gen Y tard fashion, the young lady who is apparently a director in this fledging enterprise has linked the site to her unlocked Bebo page where she has quite nicely posted a bunch of pictures of herself and her mates cavorting around as well as some rather touching snaps of the family holiday in the south of France. tsk, tsk, when will these kiddies ever learn?
After the jump for your viewing pleasure, Miss Antonia Caffrey, internet mogul and girl who just wants to have fun! (Don’t worry, we left her friends and family out, no need to embarrass them. For now.)
Trust me, you want to see the rest of the photos after the jump.
