The Logos of the Summer Olympics
Color Lovers – has done an interesting feature covering the design of Olympic logos for the Summer Games between 1896 to 2012. Each design with interesting bits of trivia on each Olympics. We love random and useless trivia.
We love the simplicity of the Japanese design. It’s so zen. And the colourway of the Munich one is pretty nice.
And did you know? In the 1976 Montreal Olympics – After a rainstorm doused the Olympic flame a few days after the games had opened, an official relit the flame using his cigarette lighter. Organizers quickly doused it again and relit it using a backup of the original flame.
I really do wonder sometimes if the Olympic flame really is the original Olympic flame. We’d never know the difference.
