Yet another cool thing to do in New York this weekend
The Conflux Festival is an arts festival running in New York until Sunday. Billed as “The art and technology festival for the creative exploration of urban public space”, the four day festival features over a one hundred local and international artists performing “art installations, street art interventions, interactive performance, walking tours, bicycle and public-transit expeditions, DIY media workshops, lectures, films and music.”
There are some quite interesting sounding projects involved, ranging from an East Village scavenger hunt that uses iPod video and mobile clues to the outdoor installation by Lucas Murgida pictured above. The cabinet is to be left on a sidewalk with Murgida hidden inside. He then plans to not reveal himself until someone takes the cabinet home. Oh to be a fly on the wall when that happens!
Read his rationale here.
You can find out more about the festival and the planned activities at the official site.
