New DS. Boringly named DSi.

When the first Nintendo DS first launched in 2004, we were instantly fans. It was pretty damn groundbreaking, with its touch screen gaming and dual screens. More importantly, it had wireless multiplayer Mario Kart. I believe that sold the entire 20+ male market. Anyway, its been out for a while – and although they released a slimmer, sexier one – not a lot has changed.

So they’ve updated it. It’s pretty much the same hardware except the screen is a tiny bit bigger – the added two cameras and built-in a web broswer. Oh and they strangely changed the name to DSi (what exactly does the i refer to?).

It’s not all that exciting, since its four year old technology – with a mobile phone grade cameras slapped onto it. Still it’s a nice and affordable little toy – and until they actually release some decent games for the iphone – i might have to pick one up.

It’s not out till next year sometime, however.

UPDATE: Totally missed this one, but the DSi drops support for Gameboy Advance titles. Which is a shame, but them’s the breaks.
