Get an iPhone. Make an iBand.
Okay so most people probably think that using an iPhone as a musical instrument sounds silly, or at least a clever novelty party trick at most. Take a look at this video – it might change your mind.
The entire song, except the singing of course, is generated live on iPhones using software like BeatMaker, Pianist and Guitarist.
The band, who are appropriately are named iBand had this to say about themselves:
“Although skilled in a wide range of conventional musical instruments, we choose the iPhone and iPod Touch to create our music”. But they also say “Life is better than the internet”. Which I’m not sure I completely agree with.
Anyway – you gotta admit. The music isn’t bad at all – pretty impressive all up.
It’s not really surprising though, the iPhone isn’t a phone at all – its a solid portable computer.
And if I told you that all modern music is put together on computers (often Mac’s) you wouldn’t be all that shocked, would you?
Now what would a live performance of this look like?
