NY Times Prank – yes, it was the YES MEN.
Commuters in the US, found out during Wednesday’s morning rush hour that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had ended. Global warming, health care problems were to be solved as well.
Some 1.2 million copies of a spoof of The New York Times, dated July 4, 2009, were handed out by the infamous and awesome pranksters the “Yes Men.”
The 14-page professionally produced, parody newspaper announces the abolition of corporate lobbying, a maximum wage for CEOs and a recall notice for all cars that run on gasoline. Anyone who was fooled by this after reading the whole thing – must have been either freaking stupid or very very optimistic.
Anyway, I take of my hat to these two amazing guys. They did it again.
An online version of the paper here (looks down at the moment, too many hits it seems).
