Perils of the Uncommon Skyway
Here’s a beautifully illustrated little webcomic I came across, intriguingly titled Perils of the Uncommon Skyway. It’s written and illustrated by Barnaby Ward. It’s a quick read, very little dialogue – but the artwork is surreal and beautiful. The colours are gorgeous, the illustration style seems a bit manga inspired (maybe a bit of Yoshitaka Amano and Studio Ghibli there). All in all – good stuff.
Anyway it’s about: a girl wakes up in a sky tram suspended above a desert, alone except for a handheld block alignment game .
I love coming across little gems like this on the net – I liked this one it enough to order some prints and buy his published comic Sixteen Miles to Merricks.
Interested? Read it.
And check out some of the other free comics on his site.
