Chicara Art – $1 Million Handmade Motorcycles

Wow this is something pretty different. These are hand crafted motorcycles, each costing around a million us dollars. Artist and graphic designer Chicara Nagata spends about 7500hrs building them using just hand-tools and with only one assistants help.

Although these are built with the pure intention of displaying them as works of art, apparently they are completely functional and can be ridden. Thus he likes to refer to them as “traveling art”. How resourcefully pretentious. His day job is a custom bike builder, a really good one in fact, he won the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building in 2006.

These works of art were recently on exhibition in New York at the Ippondo Gallery. This would have been quite something to behold.
