Wacom gets into DJ Gear with NextBeat

If you work in the creative industry, you would have heard of Wacom. They are well known and respected for their lines of graphics tablets. In fact they make the best ones out there, for professionals all the way down to cheap models for beginners. They don’t really have any competition.

Well apparently having a complete monopoly on graphics tablets isn’t enough. They are now getting into musical/audio/dj equipment.

The company has announced a new line of touch-sensitive controlled consoles called NextBeat. Details are a bit thin at the moment, but what we know is a device it has lots of buttons and knobs and a small LCD for controlling samples. It’s got a large touch-sensitive pad that seems to be a turntable and a fingertip drum machine in one. That pad part is actually removable and wireless allowing DJ’s to run around and rock out like shiny happy people, if they feel like that kinda thing. Anyway – the thing LOOKS amazing. I want one cause it just looks pretty.
