NBA Europa Design

It’s NBA playoffs right now so a hoops junkie like me doesn’t really need any extra basketball related distractions in their life but the NBA Europa design concept managed to cut through the endless LeBron and Kobe highlight reels to pique my interest. Put together purely as a concept by a graduating senior at the University of Tennessee, the NBA Europa is an 8 team European NBA spinoff.  The finished project features uniforms and logos for the league and all 8 teams as well as a style guide and assorted paraphernalia. While still only a student’s dream, the logos kick the crap out of the existing Euroleague teams and I’d be happy to rock the Stockholm strip on...

Clark Little’s Breaking Waves

I came across these images when having a browse through the Guardian website. It was a nice sight for bleak morning eyes. Clark little is a hawaii based surf photographer. Being a long time surfer, Clark Little gained recognition for his photography with appearances on Good Morning America, Inside edition and many other local shows in the US. Apparently it all started in 007 when Clark’s wife wanted a nice piece of art to decorate a wall. Voluntarily, Clark grabbed a camera, jumped in the water, and starting snapping away capturing the beauty and power of monstrous Hawaiian waves from the inside out. “Clark’s view” is a unique view of the ocean that most will only be able...

Vintage Bicycle / Motorcycle Beauty

You see, I love all things two wheeled. I love bicyles and I love motorcycles. And you’d think, a small engined bicycle would be perfect as a low/no emission transport for the modern urban person. Unfortunately such mopeds are decidedly ugly. Enter Ridley Motorcycles and their Vintage Bike range. They’ve made a series of beautiful 1930’s vintage motorcycle inspired cruiser bicycles – that sport a 50cc or 70cc engine. They come in 24″ and 26″ varieties and are fully specced out with Shimano Nexus Coaster Brake Hub and solid steel frames. These are real beauties. They start at USD$1999, so looking at the exchange rate – I’m not getting one anytime soon. But god I want one. Some...

DVS Transworld Skate&Create Video is pretty slick...

You may have noticed DEGOURGET likes posting videos of so-called ‘adrenaline’ sports. We haven’t yet, however, posted any skate videos. Thats kind of because I for one, am sick to death of them. However every so often, something comes along that completely changes your mind about these things. Like this winning video – which is elegant, slick and pretty sweet. Back in April, TransWorld SKATEboarding held its first annual Skate & Create contest. In a nutshell, the contest consists of four teams of four pros, one am, a photographer, a videographer, and an art director. Each team is locked in a warehouse for nine days with a smorgasbord of ramps, rails, banks, and boxes. The team that can...

SMX – well it’s like parkour – with a MOTORCYCLE...

So we’ve shown you some cool fixed gear bicycle vids on DEGOURGET, it’s time to take it a notch up. We’d love to see Street Motorcycle Trials (SMX) take off. It’s the street version of motorcycle trials. Motorcycle trials is somewhat extreme sport – its described as a skill based non-speed event on specialised motorcycles. Think of it like BMX or Skateboard tricks, except on a motorbike. Hey, apparently its pretty big in Europe. The urban or street variety of this sport is relatively new, its also quite illegal in most major cities, and most definitely not street legal in Australia. This makes it all the more appealing – think of it like parkour but with a freaking...
